Dinner reservations at 7:30. Driving up and down Jasper unable to spot our destination. Finally we spot a dark sliver tucked away and our mouths begin to water. After two weeks of staring at the menu and breaking our piggie banks we were finally here. Upon entry it’s quite tight. The buzz in the room with the dim lighting created an ambiance I can’t explain. We were led to our table sucking in our guts to not bump into people wining and dining and my mouth had already begun to water. I didn’t even need to look at the menu again. I knew what I was getting.  I had the “House made goat ricotta, maldon sea salt, crostini” to start. The presentation of this dish was extremely cute. There were about five or six perfectly crafted spheres rich with cheesy goodness. They melted like butter in my mouth. A little too rich for me to eat all of so I shared with my partner.

For my entree I got the  “48 hr chuck flat steak” Again presented gorgeously, it was topped with arugula and shaved pear? I may be wrong on both of these because I didn’t ask but the greens were a bit bitter on their own. Placing all of the ingredients together for one bite was amazing. All the flavors complimented each other beautifully and I was blown away. Nothing was outstanding on it’s own, but all together it was unbelievable.

To finish we shared the “Chocolate torta and hazelnuts”.  A small brick of semi sweet dessert. Perfect for someone that doesn’t have a huge sweet tooth. But beware this dessert must be shared ! I found it incredibly heavy but a perfect finish to this dinner. The service we had here was wonderful. Not too intruding, came by enough to refill our waters and was extremely polite. For my first “fine dining” experience this was great. This place is romantic, even though the tables are not even a foot away from each other, the buzz from the rest of the restaurant will make it feel like you and your date are the only ones there. I will definitely make an effort to come back here, just have to wait for the piggie bank to fill up again !
